Scope of work
MBTA seeks landscaping and grounds maintenance at passenger stations and facilities in two geographic work areas. Bidders may propose one or both areas, and MBTA may make multiple awards. Core work includes lawn and weed control, tree and shrub care, mulching, edging, pest control and cleanup, performed at least weekly during April 1 through November 30. Optional services cover winter outdoor litter and debris removal and weeding at additional locations. The base contract is three years with three one-year options; service is estimated to begin April 1, 2027. Submit separate technical and pricing responses through COMMBUYS by November 20, 2026 at 3 p.m. Boston time. Selection considers technical qualifications, price and supplier diversity on a best-value basis.

Source notes
- The October 20 pre-bid conference was not mandatory. The RFP expects bidders to visit the publicly accessible locations. Questions are due November 2 at 2 p.m. Boston time, with answers scheduled for November 6; monitor COMMBUYS for later amendments.
- Landscaping runs April through November; optional winter litter service runs December through March. Complete the applicable Form D tabs and keep technical and price submissions separate. Pricing templates contain blank bidder inputs, not award prices.
- Form D retains old RFQ 12-22 identifiers on the Additional tabs and an Area 1 heading on the Area 2 litter tab. The current issuer notice identifies RFP 140-26. Oak Grove is listed as 23,476 square feet in the RFP and 23,746 in Form D; confirm the quantity before pricing.
- The response package requires relevant project experience, pesticide/herbicide credentials, staffing and safety plans, and insurance. Railroad protective coverage applies to work within 50 feet of railroad track. Site access and ROW/RWP training requirements remain applicable.
- The presentation supplements the RFP and expressly does not override it. The RFP includes some generic technology clauses and template fields; this summary describes the stated landscaping scope and does not infer additional technology deliverables.
