Scope of work
The MBTA seeks a supplier to furnish and deliver 15,000 linear feet of 136RE rail for the Widett Layover Facility in Boston, in accordance with Track Material Specification 02851P. Supplier responsibilities include compliant rail, inspection and testing records, submittal coordination, freight and delivery within the project limits. The specification states a required delivery date of September 2, 2027. The solicitation includes bid pricing and qualification forms, contract terms, insurance requirements and technical reference drawings. Submit electronically through COMMBUYS. - The original IFB states October 15 and attached Addendum 1 states October 19. COMMBUYS Amendment 3, dated October 22, explicitly extends the bid opening to November 5, 2026 at 2 PM. September 2, 2027 is the required delivery date.
- The specification includes information-only welding/installation material in addition to the rail-supply scope. Its 02851P text cites 285 BHN while the appended 9633-A head-hardened-rail standard cites 370 BHN; verify the applicable requirement with the issuer.
- The IFB and specification identify 100 Foodmart Road and 100 Widett Circle, respectively, for delivery; confirm the delivery location in the issuer's instructions.
